The yellowtail is one of the prized gamefish in Southern California and Mexico. They are known for their strength and determination. One of the favorite ways to catch them is ‘on the iron’. Mint is a standard choice for many jig throwers. I was inspired to capture this image of these powerful and beautiful gamefish seen through my interpretation of a slightly distorted lens as you see it coming up through the water column.
